What’s the difference between Botox® and dermal fillers?
Botox® relaxes targeted facial muscles to soften dynamic wrinkles (like frown lines and crow’s feet), while dermal fillers add volume to areas that have lost elasticity, such as cheeks or lips. Our practitioners will advise on the best treatment for your goals during a consultation.
Are Botox® and filler treatments painful?
Most patients report only mild discomfort. We use ultra-fine needles for precision and, if needed, topical numbing cream to ensure your treatment is as comfortable as possible. Any tenderness typically subsides quickly.
How long do results last?
Botox® effects usually last 3–4 months, while dermal fillers can last 6–18 months, depending on the product and your metabolism. Regular maintenance treatments can help prolong results.
Is there any downtime after treatment?
There’s minimal downtime—you can resume normal activities immediately, though we recommend avoiding intense exercise, alcohol, or excessive sun exposure for 24 hours. Minor swelling or bruising (if any) fades within a few days.
 Who is qualified to perform these treatments at Long Lane Dental?

Are Botox and dermal fillers safe?
When administered by a trained and qualified medical professional, these treatments have an excellent safety profile. The products we use are approved by UK regulatory bodies (MHRA/CE marked). We will conduct a thorough consultation to ensure you are a suitable candidate.
Can I have treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
As a precaution, we do not perform aesthetic treatments on women who are pregnant, trying to conceive, or breastfeeding, as clinical studies in these groups are limited.
What happens during a consultation?
Your consultation is a mandatory and complimentary part of the process. We will discuss your medical history, your desired outcomes, and explain the treatments in detail. We will develop a personalised treatment plan for you, answer all your questions, and provide a clear cost breakdown. There is no obligation to proceed.
How much do the treatments cost?
Costs vary depending on the type and amount of product required to achieve your desired results. We provide a full and transparent price list following your consultation. We believe in a tailored approach rather than a one-price-fits-all model.
Can the treatments be reversed?
Botox cannot be reversed, but its effects are temporary and will gradually wear off. Hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers, however, can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if necessary, providing an added level of reassurance and safety.
Will my face look frozen or unnatural?
When performed by our skilled practitioners, the goal is a natural, refreshed look. We use a conservative approach to ensure your facial expressions are preserved while softening lines and restoring volume. The “frozen” look is often the result of over-treatment or incorrect placement.
What are the potential side effects?

How do I prepare for my appointment?
To minimise bruising, we advise avoiding blood-thinning medications (like aspirin and ibuprofen, after checking with your GP), alcohol, and high-dose vitamin supplements (like Vitamin E, Fish Oils) for 3-5 days before your appointment. Please arrive with a clean face, free of makeup.
