Dr Ahmed Al Awsi - Principal Dentist (GDC 163673)
With a passion for dentistry that began in childhood, Dr. Ahmed Al Awsi has dedicated his career to transforming smiles with precision and care.
Coming from a medical family, he always envisioned himself in the world of healthcare, and in 2006, he achieved his dream by earning his dental degree. Since then, he has continuously expanded his expertise, completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Restorative Dentistry from the University of Birmingham. Dr Ahmed has a special interest in surgical extractions, as well as in-house implant placement.
At Long Lane Dental Practice, Dr. Ahmed is committed to providing a comfortable, friendly, and high-quality dental experience, whether for routine care or advanced treatments. He specializes in Invisalign, Bioclear composite bonding, and restorative dentistry, helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Ahmed enjoys spending time with his wife and children, swimming, playing tennis, and exploring new cultures through travel, food, and film.
Dr Erreen Saleem - Dental Surgeon (GDC 103305)
Erreen qualified from Newcastle University School of Dental Sciences in 2006.
Erreen has been working at Long Lane Dental Practice since 2015 and enjoys providing both general and more aesthetically-focused dentistry and making sure the dental care needs of her patients are met.
She regularly attends postgraduate courses aimed at staying updated with advancements in her field of work.
Dr. Affan Ghafoor - Associate Dentist (GDC 273699)
I’m Dr. Affan Ghafoor, a passionate and caring dentist committed to delivering exceptional dental care while creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for my patients.
With a strong academic background and extensive clinical experience, I strive to ensure every patient achieves their healthiest and most confident smile.
I completed my BDS from the European University of Madrid in 2017, followed by a Master’s in Minimally Invasive Dentistry (MSc, Merit) at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2021.
My postgraduate studies reflect my commitment to embracing innovative techniques and providing minimally invasive, patient-focused care.
Additionally, I hold a PG Certificate in Operative Dentistry, and won an award for Young Dentist of Year 2022 from Dentinal Tubules.
Throughout my career, I’ve pursued continuous professional development, completing MFDS Part 1 and 2 and am currently a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (MFDS RCPS(Glasg)), earning a Diploma in Primary Care Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (Dip PCD RCSI), and becoming an Associate Fellow of the College of General Dentistry (AssocCGDENT).
I am also a proud member of the Academy of Medical Educators (MAcadMEd), reflecting my passion for mentoring and teaching in the dental field.
I bring a wealth of experience from my roles as an Associate Dentist, where I’ve provided comprehensive care, including preventive, restorative, and orthodontic treatments such as Invisalign.
Outside of dentistry, I value staying active, running 5K and 10K races, exploring new cuisines, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Dawn Hampson - Dental Hygienist/Therapist (GDC 127975)
I graduated from The Greater Manchester School for Dental Care Professionals in 2011 and I absolutely love what I do, which is delivering dental therapy to my patients at Long Lane Dental Practice.
My favourite part of being a dental therapist is the opportunity to educate patients on how to maintain excellent oral health and also taking care of nervous patients and watching their confidence grow each time they visit the dental practice.
In my spare time I love to explore new places and spending time with my lovely little family.
Leanne Fenwick - Practice Manager (GDC 117522)
With a passion for delivering excellent patient care, she works closely with Dr. Ahmed to ensure a smooth and seamless journey for every patient.
Leanne also assists in surgeries, bringing a calm and supportive presence to the team. In addition to her clinical role, she looks after the day-to-day running of the practice and ensures compliance is always up to standard. Her dedication to patient satisfaction and her collaborative approach help create a positive experience from start to finish.
